People in Motion are unable to receive any aid donations for the foreseeable future. Our volunteers have been working so hard during the pandemic but covid restrictions have meant we still have a huge pile of unsorted aid to get through, it will take us a few months at least to sort and pack the clothing we have in our hub.
We also have limited time left in our hub at Colwall as the church that very kindly lets us have this space rent free have plans to replace the building with a purpose built community centre. We thank Colwall Community Church for the space that they have given us for the last few years. The use of this building has meant we have been able to support many displaced people on their journey to safety.
As a collective of volunteers we have decided to concentrate on getting the aid that we have to people who need it most. This is more complicated now due to the new Brexit rules and to look for new premises, we will put a call out in the next couple of weeks with a press release.
Although we are not receiving general aid we will continue to do targeted campaigns that do not impact on our aid levels but get help to those in need. This month we are busy putting together shoe boxes of gifts for the children of Syria. Please get in touch if this is something you would like to be involved with.
Times have been hard and PIM has been hit by the pandemic and Brexit. We have been unable to do much of our usual fundraising. However, we feel very positive about our future and we are passionate about carrying on our work in the most sustainable way possible.
What can you do to help?
- Get involved with our new plans and projects
- Volunteer with our team to steer PIM ahead
- Fundraise and donate money to support the work we do.
We thank you all for your continued support. We are hugely proud of our charity and this is down to the hard work from our volunteers and support that we receive.
